Linda S. Carozza holds a Ph.D., in speech and hearing sciences from the City University of New York. Dr. Carozza conducts research in the area of language decline in aging and currently is completing several independent projects in the area of dysarthria, speech disorders secondary to brain damage. At MMC, Linda is a staff member in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She directs the Ruth Smadbeck Communication and Learning Center and teaches select courses in her area of expertise. Dr. Carozza has written several articles and has conducted many professional presentations in speech pathology. She has additional academic interests in issues relating to multicultural bilingual populations and professional mentorship. Current research activities include examination of language decline in dementia related to Alzheimer's Disease and communication measures in post-stroke patients.
